Our rich and varied Pictures collection focuses on Australian people, places and events, from early European exploration of the South Pacific to contemporary events.

The Library acquires Australian material mainly through legal deposit, purchase (direct from publishers or through library suppliers), exchange, gift or donation.

If you have an item you want valued, or you require ongoing or extensive genealogical or historical research beyond what the Library can offer, here is a list of associations you could contact.
